Continuing Care

The Securities Bureau of the Idaho Department of finance oversees the Idaho Continuing-Care Disclosure Act. In 1988 this law was enacted due to residents of Idaho nursing homes losing money to embezzlement and mismanagement. This statute regulates entities that offer to provide long-term care and lodging after an advance fee payment, called an “entrance fee.” Anyone wanting to offer this type of program is required to register with the Securities Bureau of the Department.
