Waiver Request Form

To request a waiver to use the word Bank, Banker, Bancorp, Trust, or Credit Union in the name of a business in Idaho

Section 1

To be completed by non-bank entities requesting a waiver to use the word "bank", "bancorp", or a word(s) of similar import in your company name in Idaho. For banks or credit unions chartered in another state or nationally, please skip to Section 2.
I confirm that the business listed above will not be engaged in the business of banking or trust business as defined in Idaho Code (see below for links to the statutes):

Idaho Code 26-106(2) definition of the business of banking
Idaho Code 26-3203(30) definition of trust business

Section 2

To be completed by a bank or credit union already chartered in another state or nationally.
Does the bank/credit union plan on opening a physical office in Idaho for the purposes of banking?
Will the bank/credit union have a physical office in Idaho for the sole purpose of offering loans to Idaho residents?

If yes, see Idaho Code § 26-302 for loan production office requirements . You may email FIB@finance.idaho.gov to provide notice of the intent to open a loan production office. Please include the anticipated opening date of the office.
